Day 7: Goodbye Mr. Tom!
So today was the final day of my internship at TASIS. And I must say that it has been a truly great experience, I had a great time at TASIS. The day started with the last SAT-10 test the students had to make for this year, which of course made them all very happy. I returned with some more good news: I had brought some presents for the kids in the class of Mr. Nijenhuis. I told them that I had a great week with them and that I really enjoyed being in their class. They were really happy with the presents and came to me asking: ‘’are you sure you can’t stay longer?’’ and ‘’can’t you stay until the end of the month?’’. This was really nice to hear, that they enjoyed my stay as much as I enjoyed it. After that the students got some recess, just like the other days, to forget about the boring tests and after that the lessons continued. Today there were not a lot of lessons with Mr. Nijenhuis, he had some meetings, so I went with the class to the special classes. First they got PE, which was the first PE lesson I had seen at TASIS. The PE teacher was a really funny guy, and it also surprised me that the lesson was 80% warming up and stretching and 20% playing a sport. After PE we went to music lesson. And today I forgot my earplugs again (the flute army marched again today). I survived it again and then I got a lunch break, Fish sticks and rice for my last lunch. Once I had eaten it was time for the last two lessons, English and Italian. During English lessons Mr. Nijenhuis and the class played a vocabulary game in which I participated after many requests from the class. And after my final lesson of Italian at TASIS, it was time for me to go. I thanked Mr. Nijenhuis and the class for the great week and got back on the bus (which I now completely master after this week). Back at the hotel I had another delicious meal and got some rest for tonight, as I’ll be going to a club in Lugano tonight. I’ll report on that tomorrow.
